Surviving the Indian Ocean Tsunami
Situated just below India and known as The Pearl of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka was the second worst affected country below Indonesia to be targeted by the tsunami in 2004, which killed 30,000 people and displaced a further 900,000 people. Being one of the worst natural calamities ever recorded in history, rebuilding their lives has been a long and difficult process. This photographic series looks at the the survivors and generations born after the tsunamia within Sri Lanka, and explores into how they have managed to rebuild/adapt their lives 14 years on since the tsunami.
